The Hudson Valley’s beautiful river, shorelines, and mountains have led some to call the Valley, “America’s Rhineland.” Portions of the Valley have similar geological rock formations of shale, slate, and schist under well-drained clay soils that are similar to those found in the wine producing areas of the Rhine Valley.

Nostrano Vineyards is a family-owned and operated 75-acre farm, vineyard, and winery in Milton, NY. Although Nostrano Vineyards was established in 2010, winemaker Nic Bozzo’s family has been growing grapes, apples and other fruits on the farm since 1943.
Glorie Farm Winery is exactly what lawmakers had in mind when they passed the New York Farm Winery Act of 1976. The new law allowed grape growers in New York to establish wineries and sell directly to the public. In other words: Farm + Winery = Farm Winery.
Brimstone Hill is among the older Hudson Valley vineyards and wineries. The vineyard dates back to 1969 when Richard and Valerie Eldridge planted some 20 varieties of “French hybrid” grapes on approximately a half acre of sloping land.

The story begins in the orchard. In 1989, Warwick Valley Winery purchased an orchard and began to learn how to cultivate fruit. The passion for creating wines and ciders soon evolved into an idea to begin distilling and to open the first distillery in the Hudson Valley since Prohibition.
Demarest Hill Winery is the largest winery in Warwick, NY, stocking 40 varieties of wine, ports, and ciders. They also make their own vinegars and an impressive array of spirits including five different varieties of grappa, their award-winning gin, brandies, vodkas, rum, schnapps, and more.
