The Hudson Valley is full of rich flavors that can be found around every corner. And no one quite understands this like Mohonk Mountain House, which has called New Paltz, NY, its home since 1869.
Visitors from all over the world travel to this iconic Victorian castle resort that’s surrounded by 40,000 acres of pristine forest. Mohonk, an all-inclusive property, hosts over 100 unique programs throughout the year that go beyond the ordinary, including its roster of Signature Events. Among those is its Hudson Valley Wine Dinner series, which is built around community, connection, and the communal table, pairing regional wines with seasonal, locally sourced dishes.
Celebrate the Magic of an Upstate New York Retreat
Tucked beneath the trees at Mohonk’s Picnic Lodge, the monthly series features an award-winning local winery that embodies the Hudson Valley. Past spotlights include Fjord Vineyards and Whitecliff Vineyards.
The night begins with a tasting experience, showcasing wine samples and a welcome cocktail curated by Hudson House Distillery, a historic waterfront estate. Guests are able to savor a selection of artful hors d’oeuvres set against breathtaking mountain views. During the summer months, light music and classic lawn games like croquet and cornhole add a playful touch to the festive summer gathering.

Following the welcome reception, guests retreat to the Picnic Lodge Porch for an intimate family-style dinner, designed to foster conversation. The evening’s three-course menu highlights ingredients from around the region, with each dish thoughtfully paired alongside a wine selection from the month’s featured vineyard.
Embark on a Journey that Links New York Together this August
As the season continues, resort guests and locals won’t want to miss the next upcoming dinner event on Saturday, August 22 with Neverstill Wines. The winery draws its inspiration from the ever-moving Hudson River, once recognized as “the water that is never still,” and reflects the energy and connection that define New York’s winemaking landscape. Neverstill Wines sources its estate fruit from Hidden View Vineyard on Seneca Lake and bridges the Finger Lakes and Hudson Valley through its thoughtfully crafted wines.
Neverstill Wines will bring a selection produced from its lakeside slopes, planted in 2019, that benefit from the region’s “lake effect.” Among its offerings are expressive Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay, certified under New York Sustainable Winegrowing. Among the featured dishes for August are a Butter Poached Lobster to start, followed by the choice of a Wild Mushroom Polenta Cake or Wood-Roasted Heritage Pork. Dessert will conclude the meal with a Dark Chocolate Cremeux.

Mohonk Mountain House’s Hudson Valley Wine Dinner is an event that’s ideal for anyone, from a seasoned wine enthusiast or those just looking for a unique activity. The next wine dinner will be held on Saturday, September 12, followed by Saturday, October 24. Stay tuned for details on the remainder of the 2026 series on Mohonk’s Wine Pairing Dinner page.
